Disobedience = Lack of connection
Sometimes, at the umpteenth command, the dog seems to obey but only seems it.
Walking down the street and also in the terraces of pubs/restaurants, it is common to observe many dog owners giving the same command repeatedly to their dog without getting him to obey. Sometimes, at the umpteenth command, the dog seems to obey but only seems it.
These are the main causes of canine disobedience:
1) We give the command without the dog being focused on us (no eye contact).
2) We have devalued that verbal command by using it a lot in the past without achieving the expected result.
3) The dog does not understand what we are asking him to do.
4) Lack of training: The dog has not been enough trained.
Any of the above causes have a common denominator: We have not been able to connect with our dog.
