Incomplete socializations
In canine environments it is frequent to hear the word "socialization".
In canine environments it is frequent to hear the word "socialization". Most of the times reactive attitudes and fears of many dogs are justified because he was not socialized as a puppy.
Socialization in the puppy phase of the dog is of vital importance if, as most dog owners wish, we want our dog to accompany us to all the places where he is allowed to be present.
Do we know how to socialize properly?
Socialization is not only exposing the puppy to future situations integrated in our daily habits such as contact with other people and other dogs.
A proper socialization consists of exposing our puppy to unexpected and difficult situations with the technique and knowledge that they require.
- Different noises such as road works or the waste collection truck, motorcycles, movement of shutters of urban stores.
- Crossings with "runners", cyclists, scooter users...
- Crossings with large groups of school children.
- Amplified music from concerts, festivals, fairs...
- The resonance of a bouncing ball.
It is clear that although it would be endless to cover all the situations, the above mentioned are important to keep in mind (early socialization video). In the next chapters on socialization we will explain the different stages of socialization and the technique required.
